Cataract Surgery And Disease

It is a common condition that occurs when proteins in the lens break down and clump together, often resulting in blurred vision.

As a result, this problem is an eye disease that can be seen in patients at an early age due to aging or different medical reasons. Especially in Cataract patients, since the lens in the eye begins to lose its transparency, vision weakens with glasses. And as a result, an undesirable situation emerges that gradually progresses towards blindness. Vision loss due to Cataract Disease is corrected with Cataract Surgery procedures, where your natural lens with impaired transparency is replaced with a new synthetic prosthetic lens.

WHY IS LENS SELECTION IMPORTANT IN CATARACT SURGERY?

There are many different lens manufacturers to choose from in Cataract Surgery. Especially in our centers, the characteristics of all lens manufacturers are investigated and the most suitable one is selected for the patient. The country of the manufacturer of a lens, that is, what its origin is is not a priority. The important thing in choosing a lens is to determine the most suitable one for your eyes as a result of the measurements. That’s why our centers do not charge surgery fees, including lenses. The most suitable lenses for our patients are offered as an alternative and are supplied from the manufacturer for our patients.

Naturally, it may seem difficult for you to decide who to trust, but the most important thing is to take the time to make your decision and research your options thoroughly. We want you to be sure that you will make the right decision for the selection of the most suitable lens for your eyes with our experienced and expert surgeons. For this reason, lenses are not sold in our centers in order to offer transparent and clear costs to our patients. You will be provided with whichever lens is most suitable for you.

Monofocal IOL lenses : Monofocal Lens (Single Focal Lens)

Monofocal lenses, as the name suggests, are intraocular lenses that focus light into a single focus. When these lenses are placed in the eye, if the patient sees far, he needs close glasses to see the near clearly.

A multifocal lens is an intraocular lens that includes the ability to see close and long distances together. Multifocal intraocular lens placement technique and standard cataract surgery technique are exactly the same.

Trifocal IOL lenses have trifocal lenses that can easily solve this problem. Patients with this lens can see far, near and intermediate distance (between 40 cm and 2 meters) well without glasses.

ICL Intraocular Phakic Lens surgeries; Surgical Phakic is an intraocular lens implantation that is applied as an alternative to laser therapy (video) that treats diseases such as myopia, hyperopia and astigmatism.

Laser therapy uses excimer laser beams to reshape the corneal layer of the eye so that the image is focused on the retina. It is applied to patients who do not have sufficient corneal tissue for laser treatment or whose glasses degrees exceed the laser correction limits, to provide a life without glasses and away from contact lenses.

LASIK- LASER EYE SURGERY

Lasik eye surgery, which is one of the most frequently used refractive surgery operations today, is the most preferred method in the treatment of vision problems. In the surgery, which is preferred as an alternative to the use of lenses or glasses, the transparent tissue in front of the eye (cornea) is adjusted precisely. A special cutting laser is used during this process and it is disposable.

LASIK eye surgery, which is used for many eye problems such as myopia, hyperopia or astigmatism, and problems that negatively affect the comfort of daily life such as nearsightedness and blurred vision, these problems are eliminated without the need for glasses and lenses.

For LASIK eye surgery, which can also be defined as state-of-the-art laser eye surgery, a personalized treatment program is created through computer systems with wavefront technology and intralase method (without a blade). With this method, measurement planning is done through computers. In some patients with insufficient corneal thickness, laser application called “No Touch” may be preferred.
